August 7, 2009 by

Coreen: With all of the hype about organic food lately, this is a common question I hear.  Organic food can be a wonderful way to get the nutritious foods you need without the added worry of harmful hormones, antibiotics, chemicals and pesticides. However, with so many options for organic food out there now, it helps to be educated on which organic foods provide additional health benefits – and which ones don’t.

Q: Can Alkaline Water Help Remove Toxins From The Body?

July 16, 2009 by

Coreen: There are many people asking about the importance of alkaline water and does it make a big enough difference to invest in a machine.  There is little scientific evidence to prove that drinking alkaline water actually does change the pH of the blood.

An important fact to keep in mind though is never before have our human bodies had to deal with so many external and internal toxins coming from medications, processed food, fast food, high intakes of sugar, caffeine, alcohol, etc.

The point here is that eating healthy food just isn’t enough. How you eat your food is critical. Insulin is the biggest hormone in the body so if it is out of balance and fluctuating all the time, your other hormones will not and cannot be balanced.

So how are you supposed to eat your food to keep your insulin balanced?

Q: What Kind of Multi-Vitamin Should I Take?

February 17, 2009 by

Coreen: Multi-vitamins are tricky.  They aren’t always what they seem.  Most of us want to limit the amount of pills we take, however, many of the “one-a-day” type multi-vitamins don’t absorb well.  I strongly recommend a multi-vitamin packet or a brand that uses more whole foods, or even a liquid.  I actually prefer liquids to capsules or tablets only because the absorption rate is better, and liquids are easier for most to take.  Capsules and tabs have fillers and ingredients that can be a problem for some.
