Coreen,
I don’t like to eat b’fast because I get tired of eggs and cottage cheese which is the only healthy high protein food I can think of to eat in the mornings. I know I shouldn’t eat bread, cereals or oatmeal because it’s all carbs. So that leaves protein shakes, but those are soooo cold to drink on a winter morning. Any other suggestions for “what” to eat for b’fast?
Thanks,
Lesley
Great question. Oats are a great option for breakfast, they are a complex carbahydrate which means they will take your body longer to break down, keeping you fuller for longer. If you want to ‘up’ the protein factor, I love mixing a scoop of vanilla whey protein powder in the oatmeal. You can sprinkle some cinnamon, stevia, fresh fruit, or nuts on top and it is the perfect breakfast if it’s cold out. I have turned so many ‘breakfast haters’ on to this option; it smells like a cinnamon roll (but much healtheir!).
